The author has been granted permission by the council to construct the circular stone summerhouse, which bears a striking resemblance to the home of the Hogwarts gamekeeper.
Like Hagrid’s hut, Rowling’s new out-house will be constructed at the edge of a forest on her 162-acre Killiechassie Estate, near Aberfeldy in Perthshire.
The hut will be circular in structure with a stone bench and slate roof, according to The Telegraph.
A report by the council, who granted planning permission to the application submitted in Rowling’s husband Dr Neil Murray’s name, stated no treed must be damaged or cut down during the hut’s construction.
The author bought the house and grounds for £1.9 million in 2001, and went on to marry her husband in the library of that year.
Killiechassie House, built on the banks of the River Tay, is just a few miles from Castle Menzies, which has been likened to the fictional Harry Potter school Hogwarts.
Rowling has not confirmed if the out-house has been intentionally designed to imitate Hagrid’s hut.
Last week, the author tweeted news that she was “very busy” working on a manuscript for a new novel and writing a script for the forthcoming Harry Potter spin-off film Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
Warner Bros announced yesterday that the spin-off will be a trilogy, with “at least” three films.
