At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

Elixir will reportedly combine "the overpowering allure of a dangerous love triangle with thrilling international adventure." The story will focus on Clea Raymond, a young photojournalist, who travels the globe to unravel a centuries-old mystery.
Says Duff, "I've always loved the escape of a great book, especially one that features a strong, inspiring female character you feel you really understand, someone who could be you, but living a more fascinating life. I'm hoping Elixir will be that kind of book-a novel that will transport readers and open new worlds for them."
Also on the way, Duff is set to write a nonfiction title about the challenges faced by children of divorced parents. That title will be published in spring 2012.
Hilary Duff became known for her lead role in the kids' sitcom Lizzie McGuire and has since performed a number of film and TV roles, including a guest-starring role on the TV series Gossip Girl and performances in Cinderella Story and The Lizzie Macguire Movie. She has released four albums that have sold more than 13 million copies worldwide and has also launched a clothing line for DKNY and a fragrance, With Love... Hilary Duff, for Elizabeth Arden.
Duff's titles will join a crowded field of celebrity-penned books, including recent semi-autobiographical novels by American starlets Nicole Richie and Lauren Conrad, biographical and children's books by Tori Spelling, and a string of titles by UK celebrity Katie Price.
