I picked up a book called 'Daughters of Shame' by Jasvinder Sanghera at the airport because I needed something to read on the plane. It is a compilation of testimonies from young Asian women subjected to forced marriage and honour-based violence. She originally wrote a memoir called 'Shame', which was a best-seller and in which she writes about how she ran away from home, rather than going ahead with an arranged marriage.
Television
There's an American programme about housewives which is my favourite, 'The Real Housewives of New Jersey'. It's absolutely insane! One woman thinks she is Tony Soprano. She says stuff like (in a Soprano's accent) "Blood is thicker than water..." It's the funniest thing I've seen.
Music
I'm absolutely obsessed with the Black Eyed Peas' album 'The End'. It's not smart music but it's so fun.
Film
I saw 'District 9' recently and I went through a series of emotions including love, anger and sadness. When I saw 'The Hangover' on the plane, everybody else had already fallen asleep and I laughed so much that I woke people up.
