Acclaimed on the dustjacket of her latest, How to Coo: Book Two, as `the Mrs Beeton of our times', Delia certainly matches her for organisation and clarity - instilling confidence in the most inexperienced of cooks. However, Delia is decidedly more prolific than Mrs B - who only wrote two books before dying at 28. Had she lived longer, we might have known about the cranberry a little earlier.
