The Hunt for the Jackal (Jonathan Cape, 1993, pounds 17.99). The review contained an allegation that David Yallop had borrowed heavily and without attribution from an earlier work on the same subject. We accept that this allegation was without foundation. We apologise to Mr Yallop for any distress or embarrassment which he has suffered as a result. An agreed figure for damages and costs has been paid to Mr Yallop in respect of his claim.
