Young people invited to showcase art for Cultural Olympiad

Art In The Park and Open Minds Theatre Company are working in partnership to launch Rotherham Youth Art Exhibition. They are now looking for young people to prepare and submit works over the summer ahead of the exhibition in September.
It is open to people aged 16 to 25 years old, and is being run in conjunction with somewhereto-, a Cultural Olympiad project to help young people find the space they need to do the things they love, within sport, culture and the arts. It is funded by Legacy Trust UK, an independent charity set up to help build a lasting cultural and sporting legacy from the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
A gallery spokesman said: "All sorts of submissions are welcome, from visual arts to digital arts, audio and films, poetry and more. We want to provide a platform for the talent that we know the young people of this area have."
The exhibition will be housed in Rotherham's Old Market Gallery, in Corporation Street, Rotherham, which is run by Open Minds Theatre Company with the vision to demonstrate that art is for everyone.
Young people can also get involved with the exhibition's steering group, giving them the chance to organise and curate the exhibition.
