Iconic images of Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards, from celebrated photographers such as Gered Mankowitz, Eddie Kramer, Michael Cooper and Ethan Russel, will be on display at an a dedicated exhibit for one of the world’s most beloved musicians.
The inspiration behind the Stones’ unparalleled musical repertoire, the exhibition celebrates Keith in his various guises.
It includes Gered Mankowitz’s moody black and white portraits of Keith at his country house, Redlands, exotic images from Morocco and the Joshua Tree in California taken by Keith's great friend and Sgt Pepper photographer Michael Cooper, Ethan Russell’s poetic images from the Stones 1969 and 1972 US tours respectively, and Phillip Townsend’s first ever photographs of The Stones, taken in Chelsea in the early 60's.
‘Before they make me run’: Portraits of Keith Richards 1963-1971 at Proud Chelsea, curated and produced in association with Raj Prem Fine Art Photography, features photographs by Ethan Russell, David Montgomery, Gered Mankowitz, Michael Cooper, Michael Joseph, Dominique Tarlé, Bent Rej, Eddie Kramer and Philip Townsend.
