Allison Shearmur, who produced the Hunger Games franchise, Rogue One, and the upcoming Solo: A Star Wars Story has died, aged 54.

One of her first major roles was as a vice-president of production for Walt Disney Pictures during 1994 and 1997, before moving on to Universal as executive vice-president. While there, she oversaw the development and production of several major hits, including The Bourne Identity, The Bourne Supremacy, the American Pie trilogy, and Erin Brockovich.

With Paramount, she oversaw the studio's literary acquisitions, helping usher into reality adaptations of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, The Spiderwick Chronicles, Stop Loss, Zodiac, Dreamgirls, Charlotte's Web, Nacho Libre, and Failure to Launch.

Her later work saw her oversee The Hunger Games franchise, while acting as president of production at Lionsgate, In 2011, she started producing projects, with credits including several Hunger Games films, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, Nerve, Cinderella, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and this year's Power Rangers.

Shearmur passed away on Friday at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, after battling lung cancer. She is survived by her husband, film composer Edward Shearmur; daughter Imogen and son Anthony; parents Martin and Rhoda Becker; brothers and sisters Jodi (and husband Fred Proust), John (and Heather Brecker) and Lisa (and Alan Hartstein); and seven nephews and nieces.
