  • Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has asserted that all nuclear power plants in Ukraine belong to the Ukrainian people, rejecting reports of a potential US takeover.
  • He said discussions with US President Donald Trump focussed on finding solutions for the Russian-occupied Zaporizhzhia plant, including potential US investment, but denied any talks of ownership transfer.
  • Mr Zelensky called on Russian President Vladimir Putin to cease his demands and said there had been continued attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure, despite Mr Putin's pledge to halt such strikes.
  • Top military officers from countries across Europe and beyond met on Thursday to flesh out plans for an international peacekeeping force for Ukraine as details of a partial ceasefire are worked out.
  • British prime minister Sir Keir Starmer said steps were being made in the right direction towards a ceasefire as a “coalition of the willing” led by Britain and France moved into an operational phase.
