From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Bob and Mike Bryan became the most successful men's doubles partnership of all time when they beat Eric Butorac and Jean-Julien Rojer in Los Angeles to claim the 62nd ATP title of their career. The victory took the 32-year-old American twins past the previous record held by the Australians Todd Woodbridge and Mark Woodforde.

The Bryans, who had been stuck on 61 titles since May and finally overhauled "the Woodies" in their 100th final, have won seven Grand Slam and 15 Masters Series titles. The Californians have been playing together professionally for 12 years, won their first ATP doubles title in Memphis in 2001 and have now won the tournament in Los Angeles six times.

"Sixty-two brings a smile to our face," Bob Bryan said. "It's been an emotional ride, talking about it every day for the past couple of months."
