From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

England continued their winning streak under Eddie Jones as the Australian became the first head coach to win his first 10 matches in charge of the red rose through a comprehensive 37-21 defeat of South Africa at Twickenham.

Picking up where they left off in Australia during the summer, England scored four tries through the returning Jonny May, Courtney Lawes – on his 50th appearance – George Ford and Owen Farrell, while both Farrell and outside centre Elliot Daly chipped in with points via the boot.

South Africa’s replies came through second-half scores for replacement Johan Goosen and full-back Willie le Roux, but they were outplayed throughout the match and suffered from the loss of Eden Etzebeth to a head injury during the first half.

Despite making six changes from the side that completed a series victory over Australia – and missing 10 players who could have been expected to start here – England looked the dominant team and the scoreboard reflected their superiority.

They now ready themselves for a weekend clash against Fiji next Saturday, before completing their Autumn programme with further matches at Twickenham against Argentina and the Wallabies.
