Your support makes all the difference.Wakefield have signed former Hull KR full-back or threequarter Ben Cockayne, who was a member of Featherstone's Championship Grand Final-winning team, on a 12-month contract.
The 28-year-old Cockayne, who ended his short-term spell at Rovers earlier this month by taking his try tally to 11 in eight matches, was released by Hull KR in July after the latest in a series of breaches of club discipline.
"Ben is a quality rugby league player who will bring a lot of energy, enthusiasm and commitment to the side," said Wildcats' new coach Richard Agar.
"We're all aware that Ben has had his off-field issues previously and this deal has been structured accordingly, but everyone is firmly focused on looking to the future and the qualities he will bring to us on the field."
Cockayne was first choice full-back in Hull KR's promotion-winning team of 2006 and scored 57 tries in 139 appearances.
"I think the future is looking good for Wakefield and it's an opportunity for me to come and get back in Super League," said Cockayne, who played amateur rugby as a junior at local club Normanton Knights.
"I've not really spoken to Rich about any particular position yet but, just like at Hull KR, I'll do a job wherever I'm needed."
