Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. The summer transfer window is officially open as clubs across the country continue to be linked to every man and his dog.
Alexis Sanchez, Kylian Mbappe, Alvaro Morata and Romelu Lukaku are just a handful of big-name players tipped for a move this summer, with the likes of Jose Mourinho, Arsene Wenger and Antonio Conte all eager to bolster their squads ahead of the new season.
Rather impressively, a number of clubs have already set about their business early. Manchester City are the summer’s early pace setters, having already signed both Bernardo Silva and Ederson, while Mohamed Salah recently joined Liverpool in a £34.3m move from Roma.
Everton are the other big spenders so far in the window, signing Michael Keane for a club-record £30m and Sandro Ramirez to add to Jordan Pickford from Sunderland for £30m and Ajax’s Davy Klaassen for £23.6m.
We will have all the latest news and reports throughout the day right here so don't touch that dial.

Before joining Swansea on-loan, Abraham signed a new five-year contract with Chelsea
Everton and Tottenham to fight for Bournemouth's talisman
Everton have joined Spurs in the race for Joshua King's signature, according to Calciomercato.com.
King scored 16 goal for the Cherries last season, becoming hot property in the transfer market.
The 25-year-old Norwegian might prefer a move to Liverpool over Spurs, worrying his career could be brought to a halt being a second-choice striker, behind Harry Kane.
By signing King, Everton will push their spending spree over the £100m line this summer.
Burnley's offer for Assombalonga rejected
Nottingham Forest have turned down an £8m bid for Britt Assombalonga, Daily Mail reports.
Burnley's manager Dean Dyche would like to reunite with the striker he worked with during his tenure at Watford.
Dyche is trying to fill the void that Andre Gray is likely to leave, amid speculations over his future.
However, Forest stand firm on their will to keep Assombalonga. Last week the team's manager Mark Warburton said:
"I don't want Britt to go anywhere. He showed his value at the end of last season and we know what he can do."
"We are delighted with the work he is doing, but every player in the world market has a price on their head."
Lacazette's medical completed
Alexandre Lacazette has passed his medical, Sky Sports reports.
The club is still sorting out paperwork; and the official confirmation of the transfer is imminent.
Arsenal will spend up to £52m for the French striker, the club's new record fee paid for a player.
