From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. Alexis Sanchez, Kylian Mbappe, Alvaro Morata and Romelu Lukaku are just a handful of big-name players tipped for a move this summer, with the likes of Jose Mourinho, Arsene Wenger and Antonio Conte all eager to bolster their squads ahead of the new season.
Rather impressively, a number of clubs have already set about their business early. Manchester City are the summer’s early pace setters, having already signed both Bernardo Silva and Ederson, while Mohamed Salah recently joined Liverpool in a £34.3m move from Roma.
Everton are the other big spenders so far in the window, signing Michael Keane for a club-record £30m and Sandro Ramirez to add to Jordan Pickford from Sunderland for £30m and Ajax’s Davy Klaassen for £23.6m.
We will have all the latest news and reports throughout the day right here so don't touch that dial.

Bellerin-to-Barcelona saga continues
Barcelona's representatives are ready to travel to London, if Wegner gives permission for talks to start, Sport claims.
Bellerin wants to discuss with Wenger the possibility of returning to Spain, and will not force his way out of the Emirates.
If Wenger leans toward giving the Spaniard the green light, a delegation including Raul Sanllehí, Barcelona's football director, or even the club's president Josep Maria Bartomeu could be on the way to London soon.
Rooney's future depends on Morata's transfer
Wayne Rooney may be allowed to leave Manchester United once Alvaro Morata's transfer to Old Trafford is completed, according to Sky Sports.
Similarly, the club has to wait to sign Nemanja Matic as Chelsea have not secured the signature of Tiemoue Bakayoko from Monaco yet.
Once the Spaniard arrives in Manchester, Rooney could seek his return to Everton.
Bayern's president: City's offer to Sanchez "not feasible" to match
Oli Hoeness has said Bayern cannot compete with money Manchester City is offering Alexis Sanchez.
City is said to entice the Chilean with a contract worth in excess of £350,000 a week.
The 28-year-old forward has one year left on his contract with Arsenal, and talks about its extension have been stalled.
Hoeness, however, seems to be ruling Bayern again out of the race for the Arsenal star.
"Karl-Heinz Rummenigge [the chairman] has not yet come to me, so the matter doesn't seem to be too urgent with him," he said to Kicker.
"A €20m [£17.5m] salary is probably not feasible."
United to make an improved bid for Perisic
Jose Mourinho is stepping up in his pursuit of Inter's forward Ivan Perisic, Calciomercato.com says.
After seeing their £35m bid rejected earlier by the Italian club, United wants to come with an increase offer, which, however, will not be as high as the £48m asked by the Italians.
The clubs are expected to negotiate and could find a compromise in the coming weeks.
Is Carragher correct?
Jamie Carragher sparked some debate on social media last night by claiming that not one of Everton's several summer signings would make it into Jürgen Klopp's first-choice Liverpool team.
Is he right? We ran the rule over Ronald Koeman's acquisitions and compared them to their opposite number across Stanley Park.

Roque Mesa en route to Swansea
Swansea is closing on £11m signing Roque Mesa from Las Palmas, according to Sky Sports.

"There is already agreement for the transfer of Roque to Swansea City and tomorrow or beyond, it can become official," said Las Palmas' sporting director Toni Cruz.
De Boer wants Davinson Sanchez
Crystal Palace are interested in signing Ajax's defender Davinson Sanchez, after the club was fended off by £30m price tag of Mamadou Sakho, Sport says.
The Dutch club is expected to receive an offer in excess of £22m from Palace.
Ajax said they want to keep Sanchez at the Amsterdam ArenA, however the 21-year-old has asked the club to consider offers should they come.
Palace will have to face competition from the likes of Barcelona or Inter for the signature of the Colombian player.
