Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

We're still waiting for our first Premier League goal of the day, which makes my job of bringing you important match updates that little bit harder.

Come on lads, score a goal for Liam.

Stoke 0-0 Spurs

Mame Biram Diouf has a great chance for Stoke but he puts his shot over from close range after Eric Pieters' perfect pick-out.

That really should've been the game's opening goal.

GOAL! Leicester 0-1 Newcastle (Shelvey, 18)

Jonjo Shelvey opens the scoring at the King Power Stadium as he drills a shot past Kasper Schmeichel from the edge of the area after good work by Ayoze Perez.

That's the midfielder's first Premier League goal since 2015!

Stoke 0-0 Tottenham

Jack Butland clearly feels like he has something to prove after watching Jordan Pickford perform superbly against Liverpool in the day's early game.

He's just come out on top in a one-on-one situation with Son Heung-min, denying the Spurs man from just 12 yards out.

GOAL! Brighton 1-0 Huddersfield (March, 29)

Solly March opens the scoring for Brighton at the Amex Stadium as he drives a 25-yard effort past Jonas Lossl. The Huddersfield goalkeeper should perhaps have done better with that one.

GOAL! Brighton 1-1 Huddersfield (Mounie, 32)

Shane Duffy's attempted pass back to Mat Ryan is intercepted by Steve Mounie, who goes on to slot the ball beyond the Brighton goalkeeper to level proceedings on the South Coast.

Duffy won't want to see that one again.
