Selhurst Park is playing host to a London derby where bottom of the table Crystal Palace face West Ham United in Tuesday’s sole Premier League fixture.

Tony Pulis will be in charge of his first home match as Crystal Palace manager where he’ll be looking to kick-start the London clubs’ resurgence from the foot of the table. They face a West Ham team who come off the back of a comprehensive home win against a lacklustre Fulham side. Palace have only managed to secure four points in total at home this season and are now six points adrift from safety. West Ham have only picked up one win on the road this season, and despite this being a convincing win over London rivals Tottenham, two losses and three draws leave them only three points away from the relegation zone.

Crystal Palace have failed to score in four home matches this season with striker Dwight Gayle the only player to score more than once (2) for the Eagles so far in the Premier League. Away from home, West Ham have opted to go without a striker in recent weeks and they could be set to return to this formation for Tuesday’s fixture. However, their lack of firepower on the road has been highlighted by the fact they have only scored four goals away from Upton Park with Ravel Morrison scoring two of these.

West Ham will head into the game marginal favourites but newly appointed Pulis will look to reinvigorate his Palace side after a poor start to the season. Palace are without Glenn Murray and Yannick Bolasie, who is suspended, and are likely to line up with a similar side that faced Norwich at the weekend. Winston Reid, Ricardo Vaz Te, Matt Taylor and Andy Carroll are all still absent for West Ham as they look to build on Saturday’s win. This is a vital game for Palace who could drift to nine points from safety if results go against them in midweek. For West Ham, they face Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal in December which places greater importance of securing a valuable three points on Tuesday.
