Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side will be looking to uphold their unbeaten start with a third clean sheet of the season against Chris Hughton’s Brighton & Hove Albion.
Kloop will be looking towards his new backline in order to maintain what has been a perfect start to the campaign. This game shows promise of a goal-fest as the aggregate score between these two sides last season was 9-1 in Liverpool's favour.
The last meeting between these two sides saw Liverpool completely dominate, keeping 72 per cent possession and making 728 passes compared to Brighton’s 249.
Two wins in as many games has put Liverpool into second place in the Premier League, but the side now have the chance to go top after City were held to a 1-1 draw at Wolves.

66 min: It is Bissouma who takes it, and the former Lille man smashes his effort against the wall, with the deflection going behind for a corner.
67 min: First change for Liverpool as Naby Keita, who has had his first quiet game in a Liverpool shirt, is withdrawn and captain Jordan Henderson replaces the former Leipzig man.
68 min: Roberto Firmino has a knack of squeezing through tight spaces, and he does so again.
He is tracked well by Balogun, but the Brazilian still gets a shot off which is hit straight at Ryan.
72 min: Liverpool seem to have gone a lot narrower these last few minutes, but the next goal nearly comes from the width provided by Robertson.
His cross is deflected and nearly creeps in at Ryan's near post.
75 min: Double substitution for Brighton.
Brighton take off Solly March and Antohny Knockaerty for Jurgen Locadia and Alireza Jahanbakhsh
79 min: More changes for both sides.
Daniel Sturridge is brought on for Sadio Mane, while Brighton's Pascal Gross has come on for Bissouma.
80 min: Liverpool have allowed complacency settle in in the last ten minutes, and goalkeeper Alisson nearly pays for it with Glenn Murray again looking to nip in and steal the ball from the Brazilian.
85 min: Brighton have managed to stop Liverpool's rhythm for a large part of this half, and in an attempt to break themselves they are halted by a handball from Pascal Gross.
86 min: The two young Liverpool fullbacks combine and nearly seal the deal for the hosts.
Robertson is the provider again, but Alexander-Arnold's left-foot effort is deflected behind.
The resulting corner is flicked on by Wijnaldum but Brighton manage to scramble it away thanks to a combined effort from Shane Duffy and Glenn Murray.
89 min: Pascal Gross thinks he is the Brighton hero, but Alisson dives to his left to prevent the German, who takes the pace off Montoya's cross with his header, from nodding in the equaliser.
What a relief for Liverpool. Another big chance goes begging for Brighton though
