It's understood that Manchester United have held talks with the former Chelsea manager and with Pep Guardiola having been secured by rivals Manchester City, the club look set to retaliate by naming Mourinho as their new boss.
Should Mourinho walk through the door, focus will soon turn to the players who could follow.
The 'Special One' will demand that he is allowed to put his own stamp on the squad and with that combined with the club's financial muscle it could be a very busy transfer window for Manchester United during the summer.
