Your support makes all the difference.Portsmouth's veteran defender Hermann Hreidarsson has agreed a one-year contract extension which he will sign after his return from international duty.
The 36-year-old has been sidelined since rupturing his Achilles tendon against Tottenham back in March. Hreidarsson is currently away with Iceland ahead of his impending return to action.
Manager Steve Cotterill said: "The contract has been agreed and ran from Wednesday. It can be signed when Hermann comes back. We are just hoping he is going to come back and be the player he was before he was injured.
"Should he do that – which we have no doubts about – he will be a really good addition to our squad."
Reading forward Nicholas Bignall has joined Southampton on a month-long loan deal.Bignall scored two goals on his debut for Reading in the Carling Cup at the start of last season, before going on to make his Championship debut as a substitute in January's 1-0 win over Barnsley. He arrives at St Mary's to boost a bare Saints forward line, with Rickie Lambert the League One club's only available senior striker.
Millwall striker Lewis Grabban has returned to Brentford on a one-month loan deal. Grabban found the net twice in seven league games for Brentford during a short spell at Griffin Park last season and has yet to figure at the New Den this term. He goes into Andy Scott's squad for the home game with Oldham today.
Bury's influential striker Ryan Lowe has signed a two-year contract extension which commits him to the club until the end of the 2012-13 season. The 32-year-old Liverpudlian joined the Shakers from Chester in July 2009 and scored 18 goals in his debut campaign last season to top the club's goalscoring charts. Lowe has scored seven times this season, earning himself the League Two player of the month award for September.
QPR midfielder Joe Oastler has joined Torquay on a month's loan. The 20-year-old initially only started training with the League Two outfit on Thursday but a deal has been struck between Neil Warnock and Paul Buckle, providing the Gulls boss with a much-needed extra body for today's game at Crewe.
