From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Internazionale head coach Rafael Benitez has called on the club to show a united front after they lost 2-1 at Serie A rivals Chievo on Sunday.
The reigning champions are now five games without a win in all competition and, following their most recent setback, they now trail leaders and city rivals AC Milan by nine points.
Supporters are calling for the former Valencia and Liverpool manager to be sacked, but the Spaniard insists he still has the support of president Massimo Moratti and sporting director Marco Branca.
"We know the situation is critical with AC Milan now nine points clear of us," he said.
"I have spoken to Moratti and to Branca. We all need to be united. We are all in agreement that Inter has to win these type of games because we are a strong side.
"Is my job at risk? I am a professional, with so many years of experience.
"Do I feel I still have the president's trust 100 per cent? Yes I do. If we win on Wednesday (against FC Twente) in the Champions League all will change.
"We know that the only way we can turn things around is to work harder."
