From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Prediction
Arsenal 2-0 Qarabag: Emery will field a team of youngsters and they will do just enough to comfortably beat their opponents.
Vidi 0-0 Chelsea
5 minutes
A chance for the hosts. Nikolov finds himself with space on the left and drives into the box. His shot is wayward, though, sliced way wide of goal.
Vidi 0-0 Chelsea
9 minutes
Willian floats in a corner towards Morata, whose header trickles through to goalkeeper Kovacsik. No one can convert it on the way.
At the other end, Milanov latches onto a long ball and plays the ball across goal. It evades everyone and Chelsea clear.
Vidi 0-0 Chelsea
14 minutes
Vidi are defending resolutely so far. They look compact off the ball and break quickly when they win it back. This isn't going to be easy for Maurizio Sarri's side.
Vidi 0-0 Chelsea
17 minutes
The tempo of the game has dropped slightly in the last few minutes. Chelsea are keeping possession, but with very little cutting edge in the final third thus far.
Vidi 0-0 Chelsea
20 minutes
Willian drives down the left wing with purpose but sees his attempted cross blocked. The Brazilian has probably been the liveliest of Chelsea's forward players.
Vidi 0-0 Chelsea
22 minutes
Morata makes a run in behind and wins a corner. Much of the focus will be on him tonight. His body language doesn't suggest he's particularly happy, perhaps because he's been demoted to the B team for what is, in effect, a dead rubber.
Vidi 0-0 Chelsea
23 minutes
Vidi spring into life and find themselves in Chelsea's box. Nego collects the ball, swivels and fires a shot at goal, but it's straight at Caballero.
Vidi 0-0 Chelsea
25 minutes
A big goal has gone in in the group's other game. BATE Borisov lead at PAOK: as it stands they're going through ahead of Vidi.
Vidi 0-0 Chelsea
29 minutes
Willian drives towards the box, goes down and wins a free kick. The contact was minimal, but enough for referee Aleksandar Stavrev. This is a chance...
