The pace bowler finished with figures of 3 for 35 and off-spinner Danielle Hazell also took two wickets at the Floreat Oval as Australia A closed on 301 for 7 in reply to England's 386 all out.
"It was quite a tough day but getting overs under our belt is obviously a good thing before the Test match," said Hazell.
"I enjoyed the challenge of trying to get wickets, with the batters not being as aggressive. The pitch was pretty flat and I think the Waca [the venue for the Test] will be quite similar with maybe a little more pace.
"It has been a good two days," she added. "It is something we needed and we're now really looking forward to the Waca, which should be a great occasion."
The multi-format women's Ashes series starts on Friday with the only Test, followed by three one-day internationals and three Twenty20s. Six points are awarded for a Test win and two points for each ODI and T20. England won last year's home series 12-4.
