A woman accused of stabbing her great-uncle to death with a “Rambo” knife has appeared in court.

Kerry Donovan, 29, allegedly killed 66-year-old Leroy Junior Edwards in his own home in the early hours of August 18.

Mr Edwards was found collapsed in the hallway of his flat in Ringstead Road, Catford, south-east London, after neighbours raised the alarm at 4am.

He had been stabbed in the neck and chest with a hunting blade, sometimes referred to as a Rambo knife.

Ms Donovan appeared at the Old Bailey charged with the pensioner’s murder.

She spoke to confirm her identity and British nationality via video link from Bronzefield jail.

Judge Sarah Munro QC set a plea hearing for 19 November and a provisional two-week trial from 11 February 2019.

The defendant, of Pantile Avenue, Southend-on-Sea, Essex, was remanded into custody.
