Concern over missing children

Police have expressed concern for the safety of a 10-year-old boy and his eight-year-old sister who have gone missing from their home.

Kaine and Angel Smith went missing from an address in Alvechurch, north Worcestershire, at around midday yesterday and despite an intensive police search overnight they have not been traced.

The children, described by West Mercia Police as vulnerable, have family connections in the West Bromwich area.

Kaine is described as white, about 5ft tall, slim, pale skinned with short brown hair and was wearing a white T-shirt under a blue hooded jacket, and grey jogging bottoms.

His sister is also white, 4ft 6in, with blonde hair. She was wearing a yellow top under a pink-and-white hooded top with red hearts on it.

Detective Chief Inspector Tony Love, of West Mercia Police, said: "We have serious concerns for the welfare of these two children due to their ages and as they have now possibly been out all night in wet weather.

"It is possible they may be making their way to the West Bromwich area, where they have connections.

"We need to find them as quickly as possible and I would urge anyone who has seen two children answering those descriptions since around midday yesterday to get in touch with us immediately."

Anyone with information should call police on 0300 333 3000.
