10 October: The Princess Royal, President, National Federation of Young Farmer's Clubs, today attended the Competitions Day at the National Agricultural Centre, Stoneleigh Park, Kenilworth, and was received by Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant for Warwickshire (the Viscount Daventry).

CLARENCE HOUSE

10 October: The Earl of Dalhousie KT today had the honour of being received by Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother upon relinquishing his appointment was Lord Chamberlain to Her Majesty.

The Earl of Crawford and Balcarres also had the honour of being received by Her Majesty upon assuming his appointment as Lord Chamberlain to Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother.

Miss Jane Walker-Okeover has succeeded the Lady Elizabeth Basset as Lady-in-Waiting to Her Majesty.

KENSINGTON PALACE

10 October: The Prince of Wales, Colonel-in-Chief, Gordon Highlanders, this evening attended a Dinner to celebrate the Fifteenth Anniversary of His Royal Highness becoming Colonel-in-Chief, at the Craigendarrock Hotel, Ballater.

Lieutenant-Commander Robert Fraser RN was in attendance.

ROYAL ENGAGEMENTS

The Princess Royal, Patron, Farms for City Children, visits Wick Court, Arlingham, Gloucestershire; and later as Master, the Worshipful Company of Loriners, holds a Reception at St James's Palace for the Livery. The Duke of Kent, as President of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution, visits Lerwick and Aith Lifeboat Stations, Shetland Isles, Kirkwall, Stromness, and Longhope Lifeboat Stations, Orkney, and Wick and Thurso Lifeboat Stations, Caithness, Scotland, in the course of a coastal tour. The Duchess of Kent presents the Designer of the Year Award at the Lloyds Bank British Fashion Awards, Grosvenor House Hotel, London W1.

Changing of the Guard

The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment mounts The Queen's Life Guard at Horse Guards, 11am; 1st Battalion the King's Regiment mounts The Queen's Guard, at Buckingham Palace, 11.30am, band provided by the King's Regiment.
