According to this week's Lawyer magazine, the Law Society has decided there is too much going on in the profession to give the event the profile it deserves.
Robert Sawyer, vice-president of the Law Society, was not even aware the event existed. "I don't know what you're talking about; what is National Law Day?" he asked. "I'm surprised if they are cancelling it. No, I'm not, nothing ever surprises me anymore."
