Auto brands and fans alike gather in the splendid surroundings of Goodwood Estate this weekend for the 19th Festival of Speed, with several new cars set to take on the gruelling hill climb. Across the pond, events are planned across the US to mark the second National Collector Car Appreciation Day on July 8.

Billed as "the world’s greatest celebration of car culture," this year's event will boasts a record number of Formula One drivers and teams, the return of the Moving Motor Show and the Festival of Speed hill climb.

National Collector Car Appreciation Day

Sponsored by the US Senate itself, the National Collector Car Appreciation Day is a chance for classics enthusiasts up and down the US to demonstrate how their hobby contributes to the historical fabric of one of the world's most car-loving nations. The event is organized by the massive Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) and its Automotive Restoration Market Organization (ARMO) arm.

70 Years of Jeep Week

The iconic offroader celebrates its anniversary this year and a special lecture by Jeep history buff and Chrysler retiree Larry Johnson at the Walter P Chrysler Museum is just one of the events planned, part of a full week's events in July. Exhibitions and cruises are also planned, but Johnson will take a look at how one vehicle became a legend, used around the world on everything from farms to battlefields.

The only North of the Border stop of the American Le Mans series, the Grand Prix of Mosport is the biggest automotive racing event in the Canadian calendar. There are multiple races across the weekend, along with plenty of chances to get close to the cars and drivers.
