Your support makes all the difference.A patient undergoing surgery was set on fire when a solution used to clean skin ignited. The incident happened at Scarborough Hospital in North Yorkshire.
The patient was treated for skin-burn injuries and transferred to Castle Hill Hospital in East Yorkshire "as a precaution" before being returned to and discharged from Scarborough Hospital yesterday.
Liz Booth, director of operations at Scarborough and North East Yorkshire NHS Trust, said: "We are extremely sorry for any pain and distress caused to the patient."
