Hours after a call between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, where Putin agreed to a 30-day pause on attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure, Russia launched an air raid on Slovyansk, leaving the city of 100,000 without power.
During the call, Putin refused a full 30-day ceasefire proposed by the US, but agreed to temporarily halt attacks on energy facilities. Ukraine agreed to the limited ceasefire.
Ukraine claims its air defence shot down 72 of 145 Russian drones launched overnight. Russia claims to have destroyed 57 Ukrainian drones.
A hospital in Sumy and another in Krasnopillia were hit by Russian drones, causing damage but no reported casualties.
The Trump administration has ended a US-funded program tracking the deportation of Ukrainian children, with lawmakers claiming the data has been deleted.
