From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. This year’s instalment of I’m a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here has finally come to an end.

The final episode of the hit ITV reality show’s 22nd season aired on 27 November on ITV and streaming on ITVX.

After Mike Tindall was voted out the jungle in the penultimate episode, just three contestants remained: ex-England footballer Jill Scott, actor Owen Warner and disgraced Tory MP Matt Hancock.

Hancock’s involvement had been one of the main talking points of the series, after the controversy-struck former health secretary was announced as a surprise contestant shortly before the series aired.

However, it was Scott who emerged as the bookies’ favourite to be named Queen of the Jungle, with the former athlete standing at 2/9 to win the whole series.

After two years in which the production was relocated to Gwrych Castle, Wales, as a result of the Covid pandemic, I’m a Celebrity migrated back to its usual Australian location for the 2022 series.

As usual, the programme was hosted by Ant and Dec.

Saturday’s (26 November) episode saw the popular Celebrity Cyclone round return, with Hancock, Tindall, Scott and Warner all donning superhero costumes to brave the watery obstacles.

The episode also saw Hancock accused of a surreptitious tactic to try and encourage more votes, which didn’t escape the notice of Tindall.

Going to re-bump this from earlier: Roisin O’Connor’s well-argued comment about our collective inability to move past Seann Walsh’s Strictly scandal.

Our fixation on Seann Walsh’s Strictly scandal is the height of hypocrisy

Four years on from the biggest scandal ‘Strictly’ has ever known, we still haven’t moved on. Roisin O’Connor questions whether our refusal to let Seann Walsh move on with his life is a symptom of our own moral complex about cheating

Seann provided us with some great moments during his stint on I’m a Celeb, of course.

Perhaps the best was right near the end – his uncanny impression of Michael McIntyre.

Come to think of it, Mick Mac would be a pretty good contestant for the jungle in 2023...

‘Why did Seann sound more like Michael McIntyre than Michael McIntyre?’

Here are the odds for the final.

I’m a Celebrity odds: The favourite to win tonight’s final

ITV competition series is back – but who will be named King or Queen of the Jungle?

Bit of a time capsule this one...

Jessie Thompson wrote this a month ago imagining what a Matt Hancock victory would look like, at a time when the notion sounded positively farcical.

What will happen if Matt Hancock actually wins I’m a Celebrity?

Jessie Thompson has devised a step-by-step plan for the widely mocked MP if he wins this season of ‘I’m a Celebrity’, from bagging an ASOS deal with help from Ekin-Su’s agent, to chatting with Rita Ora on his own podcast

Only quarter of an hour to go!

People we are just *10* minutes away from the final of I’m a Celebrity 2022!

Who’s been voted off of I’m a Celebrity so far?

Narrowly missing out on tonight’s grand final is ex-rugby star and son-in-law of the Princess Royal, Mike Tindall, who got booted on Saturday night’s episode.

If you need a refresher on all the campmates who’ve fallen so far, here it is...

Who has left I’m a Celebrity 2022 so far?

Eight contestants have now been voted out of the jungle

An ex-footballer, a soap star and an MP walk into a jungle... who’ll be the last out?

In about an hour and a half, we’ll know the answer...

And we’re off! The Lionesses have made who they’re rooting for clear... but no surprise there:
