From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Spandau Ballet have confirmed they will tour the UK in March 2015.

The band, who recently released their documentary Soul Boys of the Western World, will begin their twelve-date tour in Dublin and finish in Birmingham.

The tour marks the first time Spandau Ballet have hit the road since their 2009 Reformation tour in the UK. Before that, the band had not played together for over two decades.

The news follows the band’s premiere of Soul Boys Of The Western World at the Royal Albert Hall last week, which saw the band reunited on stage in the UK for the first time in over four years.

Soul Boys of the Western World received acclaim across the board, with the Independent’s chief film critic Geoffrey Macnab giving the film four stars.

“You can’t help but warm to the band after watching [George] Hencken’s film about their rise and fall and rise again,” he said.

Tickets for the tour go on sale to the public at 8am on Wednesday 15 October. Venue pre-sales are available from 8am on Tuesday 14 October. See spandauballet.com for full details.
