From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

According to a May 4 announcement, American rockers Foo Fighters will release their feature-length documentary Back and Forth on June 6 as a digital iTunes release and a DVD and Blu-ray release on June 13.

The film, directed by Academy Award-winner James Moll, opened on April 5 in select US theaters, April 7 in the UK. Spanning the band's 16-year career, the film chronicles their rise to Grammy Award-winning fame. The film debuted at Austin's South by Southwest Festival this year.

Fronted by Dave Grohl, Foo Fighters just scored their first number one album in the US with the just-released LP Wasting Light. The album, which dropped April 11 in the UK and April 12 in the US, peaked in first place in 11 other countries, including the UK and Australia, and has been the band's most successful album to date.

Three of the Foo Fighters' previous six albums have won Grammy Awards for Best Rock Album, and all six have been nominated. The group's last effort, 2008's Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace, won a Grammy Award and Brit Award for Best International Album, in addition to reaching number one in four countries.
