Love and death: has flamenco ever been about anything else? Paco Pena, though, adds a painterly twist in his new show, Musa Gitana, inspired by the Spanish artist Julio Wero de Torres, whose fascination with all things gypsy led to tragedy. Torres's paintings serve as a backdrop to a pungent paella of music, dance and song performed by a 16-strong company. Paco Pena leads the guitarists and flamenco's newest heartthrob, Angel Munoz, returns with his fabulously percussive dancing shoes to play the male lead. Revealed in London during Pena's last show, Munoz has the thrilling vibrancy of youth and the instinctive rhythm of a natural dancer.
